Special Ceremony

Amy’s House parking lot provided the location for a special event back in early November. Our flag was in tatters, so Scout Troop 101 not only replaced our flag but took the opportunity to dispose of 23 other American flags properly and respectfully. Parents and members of the American Legion as well as guests at Amy’s House attended. The Scouts are sponsored by our local American Legion Post 133. The flag disposal ceremony will become a yearly event for the Scout troop.

I am the Treasurer of TRIO Central Texas Chapter a 501 (c) 3 which owns and operates Amy’s House in Temple, Texas.  I am the mother of Amy Henderson Firth, a multiple organ and tissue donor after her untimely and unexpected death in 2012.
